After a hiatus, Open Forum Friday is back! At least for this week.
This Week’s Topic
A friend referred me to an article on Greta Christina’s awesome blog the other day, where she posted a two part topic about the Atheism movement and diversity (Part 1, Part 2).
Although I’m not saying you need to read it for [...]
Read about Resurrection Cookies! A good Christian parent is supposed to make these with their child to teach them about Jesus. Then enter our contest, searching for the recipe for atheist cookies, and win an autographed copy of I Sold My Soul on eBay by Hemant Mehta, the Friendly Atheist!
At least that’s the sentiment we’ve heard from many of the new members of IPFW’s new student organization Campus Atheists and Agnostics. Started this semester by Chad (aka FFW blogger Butter) and myself, Campus Atheists and Agnostics seeks to provide a forum where non-believers (and any theists who want to come with an honest desire [...]
Ahh, Turkey. The only country where evolution is less accepted than in the US. Now they have a new show, Penitents Compete, where the producers reportedly “pit a Greek Orthodox priest, a rabbi, an imam and a Buddhist monk against one another in attempt to convert atheists to their respective religions.”
The show’s producers say there [...]

“What is an Atheist” This is our first live call in show from June 15, 2009.
We had a bunch of technical problems and we will work hard to fix them in the future but the overall show was great. Keep in mind these are volunteers working on the crew (and the talent of course). [...]

[ June 15, 2009; 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. ] Be sure to tune in for Freethought Fort Wayne’s first episode of our new live call-in television show, Dial-an-Atheist. That’s right, we’re takin’ calls! The one-hour show, which airs on Fort Wayne’s public access television (Comcast channel 57 and Verizon Fios channel 27), will have the format of a two-host talk show, where the hosts [...]
An article from the Nashua Telegraph is pitting atheist against atheist. It’s painting “new” atheists as detrimental to the causes (whatever those may be) of other less vocal or moderate atheists. Here’s my response to the article (still awaiting moderation):
The only thing new about “new” atheists is that we are tired of tolerating religious intolerance [...]
At the prompting of Andy D., I decided to post my piece from our What Inspires You? meeting. Andy did a great job editing all of the wonderful presentations we had that night. The video of this meeting is currently available as our newest Enlightenment Show episode———————>
This was a challenge and a pleasure to write, [...]
I stumbled-upon a blog that stumbled-upon freethoughtpedia’s funny theist quotes.
Some of these were too good not to share:
From years of studying environmentalists I have come to the conclusion that they are both religion based and mentally ill. This makes for a dangerous combination. [...]
The mental illness of environmentalism manifests itself is three forms; Paranoid, Delusional [...]
