I don’t have anything to say about health care or bombing Iran or whatever happened on the last Open Forum Friday.
I did however happen to notice a particularly beautiful sunrise about a week ago and felt compelled to pull over and take a few pictures.
As I’m posting these pictures I see this other one that I forgot I even took. The parking lot I pulled into to take some of these shots happened to have the following sign. I’ve passed it many times on the way to work. It’s in a small shopping plaza on Lima Road. I wonder if the folks at Lima Road Dentistry are happy with thisĀ embarrassing sign out front.
I’ve noticed the “Say No to Obamacare” multiple times but it wasn’t until I stopped and noticed that the moron who typed the sign in spelled Obamacare as Obomocare. Ha! It’s like MichaelĀ B’s post on Not an Acedemic Pursuit, only our local version of stupid. Seriously. You are so vexed by national healthcare you feel compelled to put a sign up alternately advertising “Free laughing gas”, your oddly named dentistry website, webabychickens.com , and the time and temperature and then you spell it Obomocare. Too funny.
Anyway enjoy (it’s kind of hard to read), the best address I can give you to see it in person is the address of the dentist office, 9019 Lima Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46818**,
Also ironically I was thinking of switching to that very dentist until the sign went up. That’s the last thing I want to be is strapped to a dentist chair listening to this guy (or gal) prattling on about death panels and soylent green. I think I’ll pass.

Maybe they could trade you copy editing services on their website for free dental care. It’s not quite bad as “Obomocare”, but it’s far from professional. Let’s hope “Hal” and “Angie” can clean your teeth better than they can write web copy.
Would it be reading too much into it if the “Obomo” was a play on “homo”as in homosexual or maybe Bozo the clown. On second thought that is giving them credit and saying they are bigots without any justification. OK it is probably an unnoticed typo and to be fair I have typos often; however,I don’t make signs without checking.
This makes for interesting office politics and game theory. I don’t know how how many people work at that dental office. However, if the boss put the sign up should one dare to correct the boss and/or oppose his or her political positions? In fact, people may go home with a smile knowing it is a mistake.
What would you do? Would you correct the spelling or just leave it assuming you oppose the sign? Would you ask the boss to consider changing it?
@Skeptigator –
Beautiful sunset pics. Too bad Lima Rd. Dentistry’s sign had to spoil the scenery.
I have to agree with you about being strapped into a dentist chair and possibly being lectured on how Obama wants to kill grandma, is a secret Muslim who was sworn into office on the Quran, wasn’t born in the U.S., refuses to wear an American flag lapel pin, has a deep-seeded hatred for white people and who wants to turn our nation into a communist, socialist, fascist, Marxist, Nazi-style dictatorship where singing Christmas carols in public school is illegal and every citizen will be required to pray to Mecca four times a day.
Just gave them a call, and told them I wouldn’t be coming through their front door for dental care anytime soon…
Also, doing my part to keep the “Andy” theme flowing.
In a county with a 10% unemployment rate I’d probably let it slide if I worked there, especially as a technician or a receptionist.
Politics comes up periodically at my place of employment, but I am in a position where I can suggest that we change topics. Of course, I don’t believe that my company would ever put a sign like that up because it might offend potential customers. That’s just bad business sense.
@Andy D
Is that NoHomocare or NoBozoCare?
