In case you haven’t heard, South Korea says that either N. Ko. or pro-N. Ko. groups are responsible for the massive DOS attacks. I’m finding the time-outs more widespread than most sources (that I can still connect to) are reporting.
Here’s a list of sites that have been timing out all morning:
en.wikipedia.org
www.scienceblogs.com
cnn.com
news.bbc.co.uk
weather.com
I was having problems with whitehouse.gov, but now it’s apparently back up.
MSNBC and The New York Times are fine.
Any other sites people can’t connect to? Anyone know where scienceblogs refugees are hanging out?

I say they hang out at this site!
Although, it’s only a matter of time until FFW’s site goes down. We are 7th on Kim Jong Il’s list, y’know.
Oh Noes! I can’t get to The Nation! Why would someone would go after The Nation.
I think the FFW site is safe because you’re on my server still which has an Australian IP addy (though the server’s physically located, I think, in Los Angeles).
I’m having trouble too with all those sites Butter listed. Annoying as hell that I can’t get to scienceblogs.com and wikipedia. Where will I go for my massive daily doses of arcane trivia now?
xkcd.com is down… that may very well cause a massive counter attack lol…
dictionary.com
allencounty.us
torsopants.com and tshirthell.com are down… damn, good thing I didn’t need to order new shirts today lol…
the Smith and Wesson and Ruger sites are down…
strugglesforexistence.com
ebonmusings.org
evga.com (pc video cards)
candle4less.com
secularhumanism.org
freethought.freeservers.com
infidels.org
among others… at least a third of my favorites are out…
Actually, I just heard from some web developer friends of mine that it seems to be a Verizon problem. In fact, much of the city of New York is down right now, but only on certain sites. And apparently, DC, Boston, and some of the other big Verizon markets are down.
Now, whether or not that is North Korea’s fault, that’s to be determined. We’re a skeptic group — let’s figure that out. (-:
I guess it’s true what Verizon says:
It’s the network.
