We asked some of our FreeThought Fort Wayne members “What Inspires You?” This is what they responded with:
Michael Butler: Intro and Dan Dennett passage on spirituality
Chad Butterbaugh: Carl Sagan and what was put on the Voyager spacecraft to represent all humanity.
David Spaulding: Carl Sagan quote
Luke Gilbert: Bill of Rights, FFW, PBS, open source, etc
Andy Welfle: Passages from Douglas Adams
Andy Diekroger: IYA podcast of The 365 days of astronomy, Google Earth/Sky and music from Susan Werner
Jake Doelling: Personal speech on humanity’s progress
Thanks to all our presenters and camera operators. It was a extemely moving evening and it definetly inspired me. We should do this regularly.

Andy,
I am so sorry that you are offended by Jesus Christ.
Anita
Anita:
Please don’t try to make people feel guilty for not believing things you believe.
How would you like it if someone said to you:
“I am so sorry you are offended by reality and believe in sky fairies.”?
I so hate how Jesus requires so much guilt and shame of people to be his eternal ass-kissing slaves, and then how on top of it his followers project their guilt and shame onto others. Christianity is inhumane and makes people cold, calloused and sometimes cruel. In any case it brain-washes people- usually from infancy.
By the way, how can Jesus die for you and your imagined sins if he just gets back up again 3 days later? It’s not much of a sacrifice when he knows he will shoot right back up to heaven to be beside himself once again.
Who’s he trying to impress, anyway?
The whole concept is utterly ridiculous. It is simply unfortunate any grown person can believe such tripe in today’s modern world.
I feel sorry for people like you more than anything, but when you leave little comments like the one above that are intended to jab and slyly insult us, my empathy turns to disgust.
