    Darwin-willing, I’ll be there. :-P

  2. Joel Says:

Are newcomers welcome? I just found out about you guys…

  3. andyscathouse Says:

    Hi Joel,

All are welcome. (The only clause is you have to be civil). lol

    I hope to meet you.

    -Andy

  4. Joel Says:

    I’m always civil ;)

I’ve really been hoping to find a group of Free Thinkers in Fort Wayne since my recent De-conversion from Christianity (FYI, my dad used to be the pastor at the church one block down from the coffee shop).

I’m truly looking forward to meeting some people friendly to skepticism…

    Joel

I saw the Freethought Program on public access last night - great job.

I’m hoping to make it to one of the monthly meetings at some point in time, but won’t be able to attend this one.

BTW - I have yet to venture to the Friendly Fox. However, I have heard they serve up one mean quiche.

  6. Andy Welfle Says:

    @ Joel:

We do a segment on de-conversion stories on The Enlightenment Show, a public access show that is affiliated with FFW. I’ll talk to you more about it at the coffee clatch tomorrow, but do you think you’d be willing to be interviewed for it?

    -Andy W.

  7. Butter Says:

I’m in Indy now, since I came down with the Bio Club to see the Bodies exhibition at Circle Center (the informative:creepy ratio was a little higher than I expected, but still finite), so I may make it back by ten tomorrow. I’ll try.

  8. andyscathouse Says:

    Butter,

I saw that in NYC and it was great. It was creepy but I got over that pretty quickly. My favorite part was seeing the full nervous system.

I hope to see you all tomorrow morn.

    -Andy

  9. Rae Says:

Yay!! I’m not working that day. Wait, I work until 11:30 the night before…in RETAIL!! ::Groan:: We’ll see if the X-mas shoppers leave me with enough of a will to keep living through the weekend.

  10. Rae Says:

Oh, nevermind. I thought that said the 30th. :P

  11. Joel Says:

Is this weekly? Or is it something we just do on occasion?

I really had a great time at the last one!

  12. agnohumanist Says:

Right now it’s monthly, but that doesn’t mean we can’t do it more often. It was great meeting you, Joel! (I was sitting to your right.) I enjoyed the time also–so many fascinating conversations. As I’ve said many times before, it’s crucial for freethinkers to get together and have time to talk. It’s enlightening and feels so supportive.

  13. neuralgourmet Says:

I responded to Joel directly via e-mail with very similar words. Right now it’s monthly simply because that’s what works for my partner’s and my schedules but it is an informal gathering and this could be done as often as people want to do it.

And again, it was great meeting you Joel.
