Desc: If you have any ideas or questions please feel free to shoot me an email below or post a topic in the forums. As usual the discussion will be moved to a local pub. Public is always welcome. Please check the website in case there are changes to meeting rooms.

This is an important meeting for anyone interested in the structure and direction of our group. We will be discussing the new constitution which will be voted for ratification during the January meeting.
This is also the time for all who are interested to make it publicly known if you are interested in running for one of our inaugural officer positions. Please be prepared to give your reasons for why you would be a good candidate for the position of interest and a basic overview of what direction(s) you would like to see the group take.
We will elect a president, vice-president, secretary and treasurer.
Remember, our first president will go a long way in shaping our group, so let’s make sure we get a good one. That shouldn’t be too hard with the potential candidates we’ve got, but I’m sure each of them will have different opinions on our direction and image.
I’m officially running for treasurer since I’ve had greatness thrust upon me (ha!).

Well, he might be crazy but at least he donates to the SPCA so he can’t be all bad.
What I can’t understand is why so many religious people don’t understand that the separation of church and state protects them as much as it protects secularists. For instance, if the Hispanic population continues to grow as rapidly as it has in the U.S., we could be looking at a Hispanic majority in a few decades and thus Catholicism could become the majority religion. Now let’s say Hispanics move farther to the right socially and a far right-wing Hispanic Catholic is elected President along with a majority of far right-wing Hispanic Catholic’s gaining seats in Congress. If we didn’t have a high wall of separation between church and state, under such circumstances we might just end up with Catholicism as the national religion. I’d think a whole lot of Protestant denominations would be really upset with that idea.

I think the producers of the Enlightenment Show can take it as a compliment that you wish to appear on their show.
However, science has this wonderful concept called ‘peer review’. (It is worth pointing out that peer review is antithetical to most religions - especially monotheistic ones.) One benefit of peer review is that it helps prevent giving a mic and spotlight to crackpots.
We wouldn’t want that, now, would we?
If, indeed, you can prove that there is no separation between church and state, you won’t need a TV program to do it. Simply create a web page with your arguments and post a link to it.
To get you started, here are a few points from the U.S. Constitution which you should be sure to specifically address:
Additionally, after you are done presenting your position, you’ll have to explain why the producers of the show - a show which exists to present opposing viewpoints - should have you as a guest when you threaten people who oppose your viewpoint.
P.S. You censor your swear words as if you are trying to be decent, but continue the annoying behavior of typing in all caps. Strange.

If you have an ACPL library card you can park in the library’s parking garage for free, just get your ticket validated on the way out after the meeting. You can get to the parking garage from the North side (Wayne St.) of the building.
After 5pm or 6pm, on-street parking is free. Don’t feed the meter. I almost always park on the street and never have problem finding a space especially on Wayne
